Seems like a mix of hostile and understanding comments,with the majority being critical.
Before people get really wound up about the buyer of Faridi's work,there are the basic facts that no one close to her looked after her output and the buyer was interested in the arts scene in Woodstock-not hunting for Faridi's art specifically.
As a film buff,a Dylan fan and now an admirer of Ms McFree's art,he is trying to promote her reputation via an exhibition.Yes,this will include the Dylan connection but ,surely will also include the healing art and any other projects she carried out.He's not exactly 'Judas'.

Further to this, many visitors to VOD are only there to see the Girlfriends pictures, so there obviously is a 'market' (used advisedly) for information on Dylan's lovers. Nothing wrong with that. I think that Faridi. although easy to see as an opportunist still has a story to tell, and again like many of his girlfriends she was not just a 'minor' character, but an artist in her own right.

Thanks dagrab. It's that kind of civil discussion I was expecting from Expecting Rain, but in the end, the McFree topic was locked because of constant bickering. There are so many other questions I was hoping to answer, but many people were simply interested in "protecting" Dylan from the intruder. I suppose the writers of various Dylan biographies had to put up with much the same. And, as strange as this sounds, I thought Dylan fans would welcome the opportunity to see Faridi's art - especially since many of the pieces posted on the site are of him. Two topics I never got to answer were copyright issues (I have tried to contact living relatives) and the films. Surprising no one wanted to know if anything Dylan or The Band-related was captured by that 8mm camera back in Woodstock in the late 1960s. For now, the film content will remain sealed. That's my reward for keeping on the trail of lost film footage. Great site, Mary. Thanks for the interview and keep up the good work. -Phil

Looks like the message board on Expecting Rain for the Faridi topic has reopened. I pleaded for sanity and added a few updates. I can only hope the dogs will stop barking.

Hi Ken, if I leave out anyone it's usually because I cant find a picture of them.
