Have you ever met Bob Dylan, or come close to meeting him?

Martin Carthy ......BBC Radio 2 Desert Island Discs 13/1/13.......mentioned his time with Dylan in London .....contrary to the old story,MC and Dylan didn't share a flat but spent time together.......jointly chopping up a wrecked piano for firewood......using Carthy's Samurai sword!
Carthy's vivid memory of Dylan's 3 songs at The King and Queen folk club.......wonderful performance.......Bob had quickly absorbed the power of traditional song to build into into his 'anthemic tunes' .....

Did Martin Carthy say anything about Bob when you gave him a lift?

The piano incident was a major talking point........but I didn't realise a Samurai sword was used!
Martin was impressed with Bob's stagecraft ,knowledge about traditional music and his enthusiasm......it was a good time for two young guys having fun.
Bob came across as a more accomplished performer than many of his English contemporaries.Greenwich Village was a good apprenticeship.......
